What I Admire Most About My Parents

My mother’s humor, kindness, selflessness. Her sense of justice, and her fight for people who have been wronged. Her sentimentality. Her laugh. Her complete and utter acceptance of people as they are. Her abiding desire to give.

My father’s inveterate work ethic, devotion to family, and integrity. His unremitting reliability. His subtle openness to new ideas. His gravity without airs. His sense of humor. The consummate craftsman.

My stepmother’s generosity, pragmatism, caring. Her quiet leadership, her quiet yet steadfast support for others. Her commitment to staying in touch with friends. Her steadiness. Utterly without pretensions.

All: their unwavering, unconditional support for me and all my endeavors. Their example. Their love.

  1. Thanks for ur incredible words!! Can u use this at my funeral; it would mean so much to me. I don’t want to be morbid but it makes me feel like I have really done the best thing in life; raising two beautiful people; there is no higher honor❤️❤️
